Each year my step-mom’s family gathers together for a reunion. I always thought that was such a neat idea. Yet since it was held just a few miles from Oklahoma, I’d never gone out of my way to load up my kids and go. Year after year, Nana would say “Y’all should come next year.” Finally, I decided it was time. And you know what? It was such a blessing. I really regret not going sooner.
On the drive up, we decided to try taking 281 North instead of I-35 through Austin. It was beautiful. See what I mean?
Everyone was so happy and sweet! Especially Aunt Vickie!
Watching the kids play together was just as gratifying as meeting or catching up with the adults. And whoever decided to set up the karaoke machine was a genius!
This is Nana with all of her siblings. And they are all so loving. It’s a beautiful thing to watch.
Aunt Vickie was in Heaven.
Uncle Chuck enjoyed it, too!
And Anna as well.
And having time to sit and hang with my dad with no schedule to keep – priceless.
The kids even fished in the stock pond.
Sweet cousins!
On the way home, we decided to stop near Glenrose, Tx at Dinosaur Valley State Park. You can literally see dino tracks everywhere!
