The gas industry can thank us for the month of July. We went back to my hometown area, not once, but twice. And the second trip included both cars…so really 3 times. But getting to see family…priceless.
My dear sweet (ex-step-who-cares-about-titles) grandmother was not feeling so well, so one day Big Daddy and Nana came to watch Charlie and Chance, giving us time to bring Chandler to Granny, and giving me the chance to sit at my grandmother’s feet for awhile. When we first arrived in town (it’s about 4.5 hours away), my brother and sister were there to meet us upon arrival. I love it when that happens.
As I arrived at the nursing home, Dodo (yes, that’s what we call her), was enjoying her first time for her great-granddaughter to sit in her lap. What a sweet milestone.
And the siblings met up for lunch before we got back on the road.
Thankfully, things started looking up, and Dodo was feeling stronger when we returned a couple of weeks later. We came down again, with the whole crew, and more time.
We had our usual meet up at Chili’s. And compared hand sizes. Charlie’s gonna be a large man when he’s grown…
The group.
And I’m gonna stop there…to be continued.
