Veterans' Day Parade

On Veteran's Day each year, Charlie's school has any and all military come to the school where they have a ceremony for the heroes among us. This year Charlie had the honor of marching as well because he's in Cub Scouts. It was so great to celebrate and honor these people who'd sacrificed for our country.

Ready to get the party started.

They introduced the various members to the entire school via live stream, then they assembled in the halls and marched around the school.

About to march.

See the guy with the drum? He led the way of course! And those around him in uniform gave a six gun salute at the end.

I know we live in a military town, but I was still amazed at how many former and active military were present. This is a small portion of them.

I don't remember doing anything like this when I was in school. I appreciate the school for doing it, because I think it instills a sense of gratitude in my son for the privilege we have to live in a free country. And in me, too.
