Icky Feeling

The other day Charlie said:

Mommy, did you know God gives you an icky feeling?

So, I asked for further explanation.

"You know, when I was 3 (all time is now told in his years, since he has so many under his belt now, ha!)...I was in the car and God gave me an icky feeling. Because I knew I had been bad for you, and had bit Chance. So I had an icky feeling in my tummy."

So we talked about having a conscience, and how God gives us that so we won't want to do bad or wrong things. But then he says:

"Yeah, but maybe it was because I ate something bad."

Yeah, maybe....

Nana & Big Daddy's

Last weekend all three boys made the trek to Austin to spend the weekend with Nana & Big Daddy (and Aunt Vickie).

Happy to go to Nana & Big Daddy's
So excited!

Happy to go to Nana & Big Daddy's

Happy to go to Nana & Big Daddy's
Such a big boy, going away for the weekend!

The boys had a great time with their family and friends, and then on Sunday, Father's Day, Chuck and I joined the crew for a little celebration. Rudy's for lunch, followed by Dad's famous fish fry for dinner! Yum!

Big Daddy's Boys

Nana and Big Daddy with their grandsons:
Nana & Big Daddy's Boys

And as I was typing this, I realized I have no photo of Chuck with the boys. Sorry babe!!

The boys had such a great time (as did Chuck and I!). Thanks so much, Nana, Big Daddy, and Aunt Vickie for taking such good care of'em!!

Restful night FAIL

Yesterday was a normal, albeit busy, day. Got up, fed kids, did chores, the usual. So that evening when Chuck had a game night with some friends, I decided to take the boys swimming at the gym, then to McD's. A little Mommy date if you will. We swam for 1.5 hours, which always makes'em hungry...and then tired. I'd been tired all day, so I figured after McD's would come the pay off, get'em home, in bed, then I get to hit the hay.

So as I ordered the meal, I promised myself I would not get Dr. Pepper, because I plan on going to bed soon. As I scanned the options, I noticed the "Red Flash" soda so I asked a worker if the Red Flash had caffeine in it. Ya know, was it like normal Red Creme Soda or was it spiked with a truckload of caffeine like Big Red? They said it did NOT contain caffeine, so I chose that as my poison.

And poison it was.

I shared quite a bit with Chandler, thinking it was safe. Then I got'em home and put'em in bed, noticing that Chandler took longer than usual to get to sleep. And I laid in bed, on the computer, thinking, "Hmm, I'm just not tired. I guess I'll stay up til Chuck gets in." By the time Chuck came in around 12:30 AM, I was reading a book, still wide awake. Chandler had fussed off and on in his sleep, and shortly after he was fully awake and wailing. I went in his room, tried rocking him, tried laying down with him, only to realize he was just not tired.

We were both caffeine high. Lovely.

So finally after a snack, a bath and even a dose of benadryl (he really was way congested, I promise!), he and I both went back to bed around 2:30 AM.

The moral of this story - don't trust what people tell you at McDonald's, ha! ;)

Manic Mess Maker Madness

While I was sleeping, Chandler was waking, taking off his poopy diaper and getting it all over the crib.
While I was on the phone, Chandler climbed onto the dining table 3 times (getting a spanking each time). Then he took the table clothes off, and threw 2 decks of cards around the room (that had been on the table).
While I was hosing off the porch (because Chance had peed on it), Chandler got into our loaf of bread, scattering crumbled up pieces around the house. Then he proceeded to get into my containers of make up and nail polish, scattering them around the bathroom. Then he got Chance's new toothpaste off the counter, took it out of the box, took the seal off (!), and began eating it.
While I'm typing this he has unplugged my laptop charger, and is now banging on his daddy's guitar that he KNOWS he's not supposed to touch.

Edit: I added a few more, just to make my venting/complaining complete ;) All that occurred between 9 am and noon today. So I took the boys to run errands (2 doctors visits and a bank visit), thinking that would be a little easier. Um, yeah, you can guess how that goes. I truly don't know which is worse, ha!!

This is what happens...

A friend once told me that when her kids made messes, she'd photograph them to laugh at, instead of melt down about it. So I made a folder in flickr where I keep such photos...And thought I'd share a few. If you get a laugh out of these, it'll be worth the clean up! ;)

THIS is what happens when you move into a new house and your almost-2 year old finds a crayon:
A Rocketship

This is what happens when you let a 4 yr old and a 2 yr old brush teeth without supervision.
(look closely, toothpaste even made it to the floor...)
This is what Happens

This is what happens when you give the boys a bubble bath with the jets on:
This is what happens

This is what happens when a 2 yr old comes in contact with a beloved orchid plant:
This is what happens

This is what happens when you try to photograph a 2 yr old with his new baby brother:
This is what happens

This is what happens when a 2 yr old gets ahold of baby brother's bottle:
This is what happens

This is what happens when you take the kids on a fun day trip (the almost-2 yr fusses the entire time!):
This is what happens

This is what happens when a 2 yr old gets quiet for a few minutes:
This is what happens

This is what happens when you give your kids sidewalk chalk:
This is what happens

This is also what happens when a 2 yr old gets quiet for a few minutes:
This is what happens
(You just can't see the bandaids all over the bathroom.)

This is what happens when you don't use a sippy cup:
This is what happens

This is what happens when a 10 month old can reach the garbage:
This is what happens

This is what happens when you take boys shopping:
This is what happens

This is what happens to food left on the table:
This is what happens

This is what happens when the 1 yr old gets the bath salts:
This is what happens

And in case you were wondering, this is what happens when the same 1 yr old gets into the cornstarch:
This is what happens

Moral of the story - be very fearful of a few minutes of quiet coming from a 2 yr old, or anything that is within the grasp of a 1 yr old.

Ahh, the joys of motherhood.

Micro Blogging Excuses

So, Twitter started out as a whole "microblogging" idea but has gained a reputation of being where everyone says mundane things, and no one cares. For instance:

However, Twitter is somewhat why I've slacked in blogging lately. Because once I've twittered (tweeted, whatever) about something about the boys, I find it redundant to post a blog about it. Yet, many have told me I should create a book to remember all these little tweets about them. So, here ya go - August 08 thru June 09 tweets. (I can't blame you if you just skim or skip this, it's really a record for the boys to have someday...). And also, if you find me on Facebook, you can see these regularly as well (or myspace).

Overheard while playing an arcade game: "Woohoo we won level 3! Thank You, God!"

Chandler has a new game. It's called Take-Off-Your-Diaper-and-Run-From-Mommy.

Chandler really struggles to understand why he has to share his mommy with his brothers. It's just not fair.

as soon as Chance's shorts hit the floor so he can potty, Chandler runs them to the washing machine. Oh, child after my own heart.
loved watching Big Chan toddle around the room with my sunglasses on, waving at the pretend masses because he KNOWS he's Mr. Hollywood.
"This was a bad day! I had to go to church and I got a spanking!" ~Charlie
Charlie says "If you stop growing & eat too much, your stomach will explode." So Chance says "Look at my tummy, it's so big!"
"So who gives you spankings when you do bad things Mommy?" ~Charlie

Spent the entire day battling the toy invasion. These kids have more than they'd ever be able to play with in their lifetimes!

A tree ran into Chance today. Wait, that's not right...
every time I open the dryer, Chandler thinks he's invited.
One son graduated pre-k, another graduated to underwear this week. These are great, yet bittersweet milestones...
Me: "Charlie did you draw 2 people?" C - "No I drew 2 kids. And the fat one is Chance."

"Mommy, who made God?" ~Charlie
"I had a dream that Charlie was littler than me, and I went to school, and Charlie stayed home." ~Chance (Poor younger child!!)
"Pee Pee Man to the RESCUE!" ~Chance

"It's not fair. Daddy gets Game Nights, you get Girls' Nights. I want a BOY'S NIGHT! Humph." Can you guess who said that?
"I not Chance, I Wuke Skywalker."
thinks it's hilarious how Chandler only wants to play w/whatever Chance is playing w/. Obviously big brother has the best taste in toys...
Happy Mother's Day. "My children were my gift from God, and they are my gift back to Him." - Cindy Means
just read this on Beth Moore's blog: No amount of success in *ministry can make up for failure at home." (I'd add *careers & hobbies, too)
Chandler has found the button for the ABC song - and he dances to the little jig. So entertaining!
yesterday the wall, today all over the tv - Chance is a very creative crayon artist.
As we were watching the monkeys play at the zoo yesterday, Charlie says, "This is funnier than America's Funniest Videos!"

The boys just threw a birthday party for their stuffed animals, complete with a pinata.
All Charlie has to do is look at Chandler and he starts cracking up (squeaky toddler noises ensue).

Murphy's law states: If one goes to sleep 1.5 hours later than normal, then one's child will awaken 1.5 hours earlier than normal.
I can never tire of hearing Chance describe something as "todawee awesome!!"
Chandler discovered the tv's power button. The other boys are learning lots of patience and longsuffering now...

"Girls are the enemies of boys." ~Charlie

i mean, inspector Gadget...
Chandler has broken 2 coffee mugs today, among other messes. The child has a reach longer than Mr Gadget!
Hard to believe it's been over a year since this video~

"Mommy my friend told me that Disney Land has princesses. I changed my mind, I don't want to go anymore!" ~Charlie
cleaned the minivan - found 3 cupholders with standing jelly beans soaking in water, and a tater tot in the power outlet. Ohhh, boys.

"One day when I was so cool & so awesome, (Uncle) Jason said I was so adorable & so cute. But I wasn't so adorable & so cute!" ~Charlie

the boys just had a juice bag/water bottle fight outside. I don't know if I should discipline them for it or just laugh.

FUTAB time - It was a beautiful morning for a pre-k party :)

is watching Bolt for the 1,497th time...since Saturday.
is now an expert Geotrax and Thomas train set builder. (Geotrax is way easier, btw).

At 4 am, Chance busts in my room and announces: "It's taking so long to sleep!"
Chandler would like to have seconds of last night's chicken pot pie this morning. Sheesh! ;)

"When I get bigger bigger bigger I can be the dirty jobs guy." - Chance (while making mudpies w/his bros)
feeding the superheros spinach nuggets. If it worked for Popeye...
bout to curl up and watch a movie with my 3 favorite lil guys. It's good to be home.

Charlie: "You know what causes rain, Mommy? When two clouds bump into each other, that causes rain."

and he says - "Yup, I'm a hero."
Then I told him "Your pooties are stinking up the house." he says "I'll clean'em up." then I say "Thanks Pooty Man, you saved the day."
Chance is now "Pooty (propelled) Man". Commence farting noises as he runs around the house.
Charlie has decided that when he grows up he'll be a (lego-inspired) rocket scientist. Chance is now to be referred as Super Hero Jump Man.
Aww Chance just gave Chandler a bloody nose and busted lip. It's not easy being the lil bro.

Chance said "I had a long sleep, now I can go to school!" No more Rip Van Winkle stories for him...
Chandler had a shower after dinner bc food was all over him; then a shower bc he pulled down a plate from the table & had food all over him.
And Chance is telling us to hush, Kitty is sleeping.
Charlie is no procrastinator, filling out the invitations for his 6th bday party. Feb 2010, here we come!
Watching Charlie do push ups on the Wii Fit. I have one buff 5 year old.
quote of the day: Chance - "when I make a pooty on the potty it sound like a rocket!!"

So thankful for 3 happy healthy boys (dr check up's this morning...)
long late night with Chandler...thank God for live streaming church service!

3 days of cold rainy weather = 3 stir crazy boys.
Chandler hasn't nursed in over 24 hours. Could it be that he's weaned? and that the breastfeeding chapter of my life is forever closed?!
loves finding surprises left by Chandler: cell phone & diapers in the tub, half eaten apple in a kitchen cabinet, etc. Such a sweet charmer.

is wondering who told the kids to wake up earlier, LOL.
looking forward to the boys "sleeping in" tomorrow - don't forget to Spring your clocks Forward tonight!

finds it humorous that Charlie and Chance got into an argument about whether or not water is good for you.
Charlie said,"Do you know my real name." Yes, Charles David Thier. "No, that's my full name. My real name is D.J." Oh...thanks for the info.
listening to Chandler say "Mama"'s like sweet music to my ears.

the more I discipline my kids, the more I learn about myself - and my obedience to God (or lack thereof).

a certain 3 year old in our house was rewarded with a Thomas for wearing big boys all day with no accidents, even when we went out. FTW!

wonders why naptime always has to be a struggle.

met Chuck 12 years ago today. :)

's cup runneth over.

is celebrating 5 years of Charlie David Thier :)

Charlie: How do you know what I was doing? Me: Because I have eyes behind my head. C: Then you're an alien!!
has a child with no concept of what the word "quiet" means.
thinks its so cool and nostalgic that the boys are into Indiana Jones and Star Warsis trying to figure out which son killed her cell phone. :(
is looking at Chandler and wondering "When did you get so big?!"

let the boys skip their naps today. Big mistake!
Why does getting rid of baby clothes have to be so bittersweet?
Chandler cut his 2nd top tooth today. Now he's got the matching set (top & bottom).

the potty trainer is naked, Mr Independent has 3 layers of clothes, and the babe has been in the same pjs for 2 days. We don't get out much.
just finished choc covered pretzels with the boys. The mini crock pot rocks for melting chocolate!
managed to survive sparklers without injury. ;)
nothing says "Good Morning!" like fresh spit up in your hair. Blech.
is celebrating 3 years of Chance Michael Thier. :)
we interrupt this status update to bring you: The "Wii Fit" Era ;)
Finished the cookie decorating. It looks like a sprinkle factory exploded in my dining room.
is looking forward to decorating cookies and pretzels with the boys tomorrow. Ahh, the joys of motherhood!

postage: $12. diapers: $30. Surviving a rush hour trip in the cold with 3 lil boys in tow...priceless.
the boys just brought me another ornament they'd broken. And to think, I only put up the "durable" ornaments this year...
today I cleaned the minivan & found 3 sippy cups, 4 Bibles, 5 jackets, 6 pairs of shoes and an innumberable amount of french fries.
Wrapped the trees and the porch in lights. I might have set a bad example to the kids by climbing too high in the trees...but it was fun!
just found out the boys' coughs are contagious :(
crossing my fingers that Charlie isn't too sick to go to school (and his Christmas party) tomorrow.
gotta feverish 2 yr old today. At least it's good weather for laying around.
got to sleep in! I think I've finally figured out how to make the 9 month old do that! :)

is not surprised that Chandler's head size is off the charts (>100%). Thanks Chuck ;)
oh, and i just made "karoches" (Charlie's way of saying Kaloches) with the boys for school tomorrow. So fun!
couldn't seem to get anything done today due to the kids. For once I didn't get short-tempered, and caught up after bedtime. Thank You Lord!
just discovered Chandler LOVES banana bread. lil monkey.

took the boys swimming this morning. I ♥ the gym - indoor pool!

just read an article that said sleep depriv. leads to early aging, short temper, overstimulation, reduced brain function, etc. Ya think?!
Got 3 boys up, dressed for church, in the car, headed to Austin. 45 minutes later, baby threw up and we turned around.
is sad for the Thier family. But thankful that "Grandma Charlie" is healed, in Heaven.

Charlie just discovered his Wii Fitness Age. Anyone wanna guess what it was? (It makes me feel better about mine.)
got a new monitor - so Chan decided to sleep 10 hours straight! Woohooo!
Got 8 hours straight of sleep last night - then I realized the monitor broke. Sorry Baby!!

Been watching my 8 month old take a dozen steps at a time. Oh the joy!!

Chance is going potty and Chandler is taking steps. It's an exciting time in the Thier house!

the dynamic duo wore us out...Saving the world is a tough job, ya know? Now if only I can save the candy from their appetites!

getting ready to take Batman and Robin on a rescue mission, err..something.

"This day was brought to you by Dr Pepper. Keeping mothers of young children awake for generations. It's what the Dr ordered."

has been rendered useless today thanks to Chandler getting up 5 times last night.

is at home. Which is my work. And my play. And my world.

is saying "Ok, who put their crackers in their tennis shoes?!" Oh, boys....

I discovered that there is something harder than crayon to get OFF tile: colored pencil. Who knew?!

"Sleep is a symptom of caffeine deprivation. "

1 week of rough nights = zombie mommy.

can fill up a vaccuum bag faster than you can say "Eureka!"

I bought grapes last night, got home at 9 pm. By 10 am they were consumed. If this is their appetite at 4 and 2, I'm afraid of 14 and 12!

listening to Charlie tell try to sell me products he sees on commercials. This is the main reason I'd like to do away with cable...

got 7 hours of sleep last night - without interruption! Thanks Chan!!

is trying to enjoy each day despite the sleep deprivation every night.

Thank God it's only viral and hopefully he'll be back to normal in a day or two.

is in the hospital with Chuck - he has meningitis :(

just watched my 4 yr old beat 2 men at Wii 20 pins!

I am thankful that God brought Chuck into the world 33 years ago today.

I have a sick boy. Chance has ear and sinus infection :(

I don't know what I'd do without Chuck. He's such a great support to me.

crayon drawings on the tile, shards of paper in the box fan, unrolled toilet paper...Man, I love my job!

I am amazed: Chandler outgrew his carrier, and cut a tooth - all in one day.

I have a pre-kindergartner!

wants to be a good mom. Not sure I'm succeeding...

forget saving for college, we need to save for their high school grocery fund! These boys are eating us out of house and home!

Charlie wore a watch to bed last night. It was 5-7 o'clock when he went to sleep and 0-5 o'clock when he woke up. Ha!

had a fun day at the zoo, although I tried to donate 3 monkeys, but they wouldn't take'em ;)

Charlie keeps asking me "Can we live somewhere else? Does it rain in Africa?" LOL He's afraid of the thunder...

didn't even change Chance out of pj's that bad? :-P

watching lego men - the boys love it!

I get to play "flip the turtle" all day long. (Chandler sleeps on his belly, but rolls to his back and thinks the world is coming to an end.)
Sargeant Kenmore set up ambush and was victorious! All enemies were taken captive. Peace and cleanliness have been restored.
discovered the dust bunnies' hideout: in the lego colony under the couch, w/the protection of the army men. Op. "Suck It Up" to commence.

Aunt Randi visits

[Please don't count how many times I use the word "enjoyed" in this post. I'm adjective deficient today.]

For Memorial Day weekend my sister Randi came to visit, along with her fiancee Dan. We are so excited about their December wedding. The boys are going to be ring bearers, which should be an adventure! Although Charlie said he'd rather be a "ring tiger" than a "ring bear". LOL

Dan hadn't been to the Alamo, which neither had I or the boys, so we loaded up and toured the place.

Remember the...?

At the Alamo

We even took a boat ride on the riverwalk, and I was so happy that all the boys behaved and enjoyed it. Of course, feeding them the whole time helped. ;)

We also spent a lot of time just visiting at home, and we ate out at Huhot, one our favorite restaurants to go to when Randi's here. And all the boys enjoyed the extra attention. Chandler especially soaked it up like a sponge (poor neglected 3rd child).

Then we got a sitter, and went out just the four of us. We had dinner and even took some photo at the Japanese Tea Gardens.

I really like this one. lightened cropped to 8x10

In this one I made the pavement a bit darker

While I worry about young couples being around my young children (they may decide to never have kids, ha!!), we always relish when Aunt Randi and soon-to-be "Uncle" Dan come to visit! We love y'all! (And please make me some nieces and nephews someday, despite the chaos you've witnessed here! Thank you.)

Little Picture Story

One bright morning, not long ago...
Ever heard the story about a boy...

Chandler found a june bug, which brought him great joy...
who finds a june bug?

It was so amusing...until...
Who plays with the june bug until

a bold little lizard came along...
A lizard comes along...

and stole that june bug away!
...and takes it away?

Oh and here's a post I started 3 months ago, and never finished or posted. Just a snapshot of my day with Mr Messy.... (Originally written at 9:19 AM on 3/6/09, less than a week after Chandler's first birthday.)

In the last 30 minutes Chandler has:

snuck upstairs since the gate was left unlatched.

Played in the water in the toilet.

Attempted to play in the trash in the bathroom.

Loosened the top of his bottle and threw it on top of a basket of clean clothes.

Nearly pulled down Chance's bowl of cereal and milk from the table.

Ok, I'm back.

After a little prodding, (Thanks, Des.) I've decided to blog about the boys.

You know how I took that photography sabbatical last Fall? And then got a snapshot lens and felt like that was a good compromise? Uh, well, let's just say the photography monster is alive and well... Because now instead of neglecting the kids or chores, I neglect the blog in order to learn more about photography. And salivate over gear I want. Oops, did I just say that? I mean, uh, research the gear I'd like to someday invest in. I just need to figure a way to justify it first.

I might be in need of an intervention. The photography monster is back with a vengeance.

Anyways, about the boys...

Lego poses
{He still loves legos, and often asks me to photograph his creations.}

Charlie is growing so much. He's definitely lost all semblance of being a little kid. He is asking questions all.the.time. How do you spell such and such? How do you do so-and-so? Why did God create this? Why did you do that? His intellect is really taking off.

He's also totally pumped about kindergarten. I know I've mentioned that before. I predict it will be a repeat of my first day of kinder. I told my mom good-bye and went to find my seat, completely excited about being a student. No separation anxiety at all. And Mom cried all the way home. I have no doubt the tables will be turned in August.

Also, since pre-k was all about making learning "fun" and how they're having so much fun they don't even realize they're learning...I don't know if kinder will be quite as entertaining. So I hope there's not a big let down for Charlie there. And I really hope I don't have to pry him out of bed every morning. He did well with getting up and to school by 8:45 usually. But I don't know how he'll do for a 7:45 school day, especially if he decides it's not fun anymore.

Silly Face

Charlie also has a new issue in his life: the Nintendo DS. Chuck bought one and got the Star Wars Legos game for Charlie. So I literally have to set a timer throughout the day to get him to pace himself, otherwise he'd play My active child who loved the outdoors would now rather hole himself up in the house and play video games. He went from being like me, to being like Chuck, ha! (Maybe that was Chuck's motive all along. Hmmm. ;)

But Charlie is just becoming a sweet person in so many ways. I LOVE this stage. He's very helpful and I will miss his help when he's in school. He's quite a teacher too. This is how he and Chance are great compliments... He loves to teach, Chance loves to be taught.

He's also picked up a thing or two from me. Today I heard him say "Chance, why did you cut my toothpaste? How would you feel if I cut your toothpaste? That would make you sad, huh? So don't cut my toothpaste again, ok Buddy?" Wow. He's got my little speech down. LOL.

He also decided to call us "Mom and Dad" instead of Mommy and Daddy recently. So when he called me Mom I said, "Yes, Charles?" and that threw him for a loop. I told him Mommy is my nickname, like his is Charlie. Because I'm not ready to let go of being his Mommy just yet...

Yesterday we had some calm talks about obedience. Charlie had been begrudgingly obeying throughout the day. So I was so impressed when he told me this morning, "Mommy whatever you want me to do is what I will do. Even if you tell me I can't play the DS." Awwww....

Silly Face

Chance's big news is he's potty trained!! A few months ago, which I'd blogged about, I'd started training him by having him go naked through the day. Once in awhile we'd try putting underwear on him, but he'd have an accident, so we'd hold off again. He also would say he didn't want to wear undies. But finally a couple of weeks ago he decided he was ready, and he's been doing great ever since! I think he's only wet himself once! Way to go, Big Boy! And yay for us, only one in diapers!! Woohooo!!

Chance is such a great big and little brother. It really amazes me sometimes. He loves to play with Charlie, and while they have their moments, overall they are best of friends. And they entertain each other for hours. In fact, one day this week I left them playing and watching a movie while Chuck was working in the house, so I could go to the dr (and Chandler was napping). Then I got back, grabbed Chandler, and ran him to the dr. Overall they were supervised, but not being entertained, for 4 hours and did great. It amazes me how easy they are now, and how self sufficient.

Thomas poses

And despite Chandler's tendency to wreck up whatever he does, Chance is so sweet and affectionate with him. Usually. ;) Chance loves Thomas and all trains, so I often have to let him close himself in my room to play with his trains, so Chandler doesn't sabotage his tracks. But he is still often giving Chandler hugs and kisses, and sharing his food or toys. While he doesn't have the bent toward teaching Chandler as Charlie had toward him, he definitely cares well for his baby brother. He also loves to blow on Chandler's belly. His laugh is contagious, for sure.

He's quite a talker. He makes friends very easily. He told 3 strangers at the gym about his dreaming of a tornado this week. He truly is not shy. Wonder where he gets that from? ;)

A cute panda

Chan's big news is his vocabulary. Every day there is a new word, it seems. He's got Dadda, Mama, Bye Bye, Shoes, This, and Juice down. He has sounds for bread, bath, cheese stick, Yes, and No. He can also point and grunt until I figure out what he wants.

Also, Chan Man is the Mess Maker Extraordinaire. He is into EVERYTHING. Nothing is safe. Chuck walked away from a ladder this week for about 30 seconds, only to find Chan Man half way up when he returned. This guy has a curiosity that would've killed a few cats by now. He pulls stuff off the table and counters, he climbs up everything. He still loves to turn the tv off. I've had to start swatting his hand to get him to stop. Today, when Chuck told him to stop, he actually did! But then 5 minutes later he forgot and disobeyed (while being told to stop again). Oh well, at least it's progress! Also, the way I know he's done with his food in his highchair is when he starts to sling his corn across the room. "Mess maker, Mess maker, make me a mess" is the mantra I think of often.

The monkey phase is in full swing.
{Lil Monkey}

He's a little enamored with the toilet. Whether it's toilet paper, toys, or our cordless phone, he just loves to throw things in!

He is quite the imitator. Today as I had took a wipe and cleaned the cabinet doors, he then took many wipes and cleaned with me. He loves to get the broom out still, and sweep. I'm hoping that trend continues for the next decade or two. ;) If only I could get him to stop trying to clean the toilet with the toilet brush though...ugh.

Today Chance threw 2 matchbox cars at the wall (and got in big trouble for it). So 2 minutes later, Chandler was doing the same thing.

He truly gets frustrated when he can't do what we can do.

Speaking of frustrated, in the last couple of weeks he's figured out how to throw a tantrum. That milestone is always a bummer! He will wiggle himself down to the floor and roll around like he's possessed. I just ignore him (and try to not laugh), and he will get distracted by something he wants to play with... and it's over.

He also has a trick that is quite endearing. He hits the button to play the Alphabet song on his fridge toy, then he dances. He'll do this over and over at times. So fun!

I have lots of pictures and videos, I'm sorry I am not organized enough to get'em all on here in time... Maybe I'll follow up with a media post.

We often have movie time, where we'll pull up the couch this way, and cuddle while watching the tv up close:
Family movie time

While life is hectic, I do feel like we're thriving now. I'm so grateful for this time in our kids' lives, and that Chuck and I get to be around for so much of it.

God has blessed us so much, and it is truly a joy to watch these little souls grow, and personalities develop. My cup overflows...
