Dear Chandler

Sleeping boy

Dear Chandler James, Chan Man, Big Chan,

My dear, you are almost 8 months old. And over 21 pounds. I think it's time to let go of the every-3-hour feedings through the night. You're the size of a one-year-old. You won't starve, I promise. Most babes are sleeping through the night around 3-4 months. Your momma has now given you 8 months. It's time, buddy.

If God hadn't made you just so darn cute, and your cry so darn loud, Daddy and I would've let you cry it out before now. Please, save our hearts and our eardrums. Just give up the feedings. You are a perfect third child in so many ways: you're happy all the time, you're easy going, not high maintenance - except at night. It's just time.

If you're just wanting Mommy time, I promise to make it up to you --- how about during your brother's nap time? Come on, you know you want to. I'll even let you pull my hair.

We love you dearly,
Mommy

Oh Angie,

I love the letter! What a sweet precious boy. Can I give you encouragement and say give it a good three days. Use your pillow, your ear plugs, your noise machine and whatever else you can find to give it three days. They normally say it takes about three days to break the routine when they no longer need it. You need the sleep, when you aren't sleeping because he's crying just think of the fabulous uninterrupted sleep you soon will have. I'm going to pray for you think weekend that you can do it. Hang in there!
