A Worthy Cause

Meet Angel. His story is amazing. A preemie who was abandoned in the hospital, and adopted 3 years later by a couple who worked in the hospital. They were told he wouldn't live but a couple more years. Well, now he's 8 years old. He had to have a liver, bowel and pancreas transplant last month. The recovery will take months in the hospital. His (adopted) mom just gave birth to his baby sister, in the same hospital (which happens to be 2 hours from home). I can't even imagine how emotionally and financially difficult it must be.

But the story is an inspiration. You can check out the website here for more of it.

And while you're there, why not donate? Or at least buy a t-shirt? ;)

I heard about this from a photographer on flickr, Tracie Taylor. Here's her collection of pictures and videos. Her daughters even had a garage sale to raise money for the family. How cool is that? And now there's a group on flickr (make that two) for Angel, taking pictures with the word "Hope" in it to encourage him.

Romans 12:10-13
Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
