We're Home Now

Whew! What a wonderful week! Hope you're having a great holiday. As you can see, we've been blessed again with another beautiful baby boy. We got out of the hospital last night just after 9 PM, so we were there only a day and a half! Not too shabby! We're home now, and things are going smoothly. We're ready for visitors! You can just email me (angie@thethiers.com) if you need directions or just wanna come our way! I'm so amazed yet again at how God can create and place such blessings in our lives. It's almost too good to be true.

Oh yeah, and the pictures are up! Just click above on Gallery: The Life of Chance: 0 to 6 months.

Welcome Chance Michael Thier!

Chance Michael Thier was born December 29th at 4:05pm. He weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. The birth went very well. The birth was all natural and no extra help (yay... no suction!) was neccesary. All of Chance's vitals are great and Angie is also doing well. She was up and walking around this evening. The hospital was so crowded with new mothers that Angie had to share a room, and thus I had to come home tonight. If all goes well mother and child should be home this weekend.

Thank you all that have been praying for us. Also thanks to those family and friends who took time to come and help.

I have been up since about 3:30am this morning, and am very tired and must get some sleep. Please check back Friday night as I will try to have some photos posted of Chance!

Charlie's Latest Funny Moments

A couple of good stories have occurred lately that I should chronicle...
The other day as Chuck and I were talking, I exclaimed "Dang!" Well, wouldn't you know, our little parrot named Charlie immediately imitated it. Chuck started laughing at me, saying "Look what you just taught our child!". With classic timing, Charlie then exclaimed "Doh!". That was awesome, I hadn't realized he'd picked that one up from Chuck! He got us both!
Also, last week we attended a Christmas party at the home of some newly acquired friends from church. As about a dozen of us sat around the living room, Charlie decided to crawl on top of their coffee table and start dancing! As if that wasn't enough, his dancing turned from saying "Shake shake shake", shaking his booty, then he was "getting down" as we call it...Then he started spanking himself!!! I'd never seen him consider that a dance, usually he just does that to show me where his hiney is! We were telling him not to do it, but the roar of laughter in the room was enough to keep him going. It was so fun and so embarressing at the same time!

Charlie Met Santa Today

Ok, so I was feeling really bad about how Charlie's never had a picture with Santa...So today we stood in line for just over an hour (no easy feat with an almost 2 year old, I assure you!), and the whole time Charlie was so excited to meet him. He was all prepped to tell Santa "Ho ho ho." We finally get up to him, and guess what? He chickened out! He got scared and wouldn't let go of me! Although I'd dressed Charlie for the occassion, I hadn't planned on being in this picture. But I did it...I sat in Santa's lap, and Charlie sat in mine! (Santa's leg was probably numb from all the weight! I've gained 35 pounds with Chance so far, so he really had 3 people on one knee!) You can check out the pic under The life of Charlie: The Second Year. Santa gave him some M&Ms and luckily that got him to smile for the picture. Bribery is a tool I've never found so important! And you know he's Chuck's kid when food makes him do what you want. Ha! So Merry Christmas everybody, and "Ho ho ho."

Chance is coming soon!

Today we had a sonogram and got to see his sweet little face one more time! It has a striking resemblance to Charlie, with puffy cheeks and lips. Imagine that! The doctor says he's already between 6.5 and 7 pounds, with 4 more weeks to go!! So we're going to wait only two weeks instead and induce labor (hopefully he won't be 8 pounds by then!!). December 27th, here we come! And there's great significance for me with that day...my grandmother, who held on to see Charlie as she was dying of cancer, would've been 82 on that day. The anticipation is mounting... along with the stress of trying to get everything done in time, not to mention, celebrating Christmas! Yikes! But God has been so gracious to us, and we're so thankful for this happy season in our lives. Every good and perfect gift comes from Him!! By the way, I have a new album set up with a few pregnancy pics of Mr. Chance Michael if you wanna see...Just hit Gallery: the Life of Chance, above.
